Care and Comfort

Care and Comfort at Northfield ManorWe carry out a full assessment of individual needs before an individual is admitted to the home to ensure we can meet those needs.  We offer all potential residents the opportunity to visit us for the day before admission to aid the decision making process if they wish.  The first four weeks of residence are then a trial period to make sure you/your loved one is happy at Northfield Manor and to make sure that we are able to fully meet the individual’s needs.

We work with each individual to develop a care plan, this includes finding out about their life story, what their likes and dislikes are, what they need support and assistance with and the best way to provide that support and assistance, we treat this information with respect and maintain confidentiality of personal information at all times.

Locally Sourced Produce at Northfield ManorWe pride ourselves on our varied and appetising menus.  All food is sourced locally whenever possible – some is even grown in our own gardens. All food is freshly prepared and cooked to a high standard on site.  There is a choice on our menus at each mealtime and we can cater for individual dietary requirements.

We want everyone who lives at Northfield Manor to feel that it is their home, therefore we encourage people to bring with them their own personal possessions and to personalise their own room.  It is important to us that the people who live at Northfield Manor are involved in the way it is run and in decision making, as well as being able to tell us what they think and make suggestions or request changes.  Therefore, we have regular residents meetings, carry out resident’s surveys and have a Residents Committee.

At Northfield Manor we have a visiting hairdresser or if you prefer you can use your own hairdresser – we have the facility of a hairdressing salon.  We also have the services of a visiting chiropodist and optician – further details and prices can be obtained upon request.

The Activities Co-ordinator runs a small trolley shop from which small items such as sweets and toiletries can be purchased – any profit goes directly to the resident’s fund.
